5 TOP TIPS FOR PRACTICING MINDFULNESS

5 TOP TIPS FOR PRACTICING MINDFULNESS

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Let’s face it, life can be overwhelming, and our busy schedules and all the information that comes at us through our phone screens can mean we are not fully living in the present. That peace, that calm of being in the moment, and the bliss that accompanies it, doesn’t have to be out of reach for any of us.

So how does one achieve this peace and calm, how can one really live in the present, the moment that is now?

Well, perhaps you’ve heard of mindfulness.

Practicing mindfulness helps us to remain in the present, in the here and now. When guided by a life coach or mentor, trained in its practice, can provide wonderful benefits for our overall health and well-being.

Here are 5 TOP TIPS to help you get started:

1) FIND A PEACEFUL, AND CALM PLACE TO RELAX AND CONCENTRATE

Make a special space in your home, or even your bedroom, wherein you won’t be interrupted or become distracted. This quiet, and calm place will help you focus on your breathing. It’s also helpful to make it part of your morning or evening routine, even if you start off with only 2-3 minutes a day.

2) GET COMFORTABLE

Ensure you’re comfortable. Perhaps you want to sit in the lotus position, wearing comfy clothes, or even lay down with pillows and cushions supporting you? Whatever the case may be, do what works for you.

3) BE MINDFUL OF YOUR BREATHING

Your mind will wander, and that’s okay. Be kind to yourself, and try your best to focus on your breathing, aware of each breath you inhale and exhale.

4) YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE

Practicing mindfulness, taking time out, and getting in touch with your inner self, can seem like a tall order. That’s okay because you don’t have to do it alone.

A life coach, mentor, and someone whose specialism is practicing mindfulness mean you can get the most out of guided meditation.

5) DO YOU

And don’t forget…we’re all individuals. What may work for others, may not work for you. Take time to find your niche, and allow a life coach or mentor to guide you along the way. Ultimately, it’s the smallest changes that create the biggest impact, so do what works for you…but remember to be consistent, it is key.
